It is an honor for me to once again lead Big Sky Hog Chapter’s Ladies of Harley Group for 2008. Our Chapter definitely has a big year ahead of us and with the awesome bunch of folks we have as members, I have no doubt 2008 will be an absolute blast!
My main goal as the L.O.H. Officer is to get women (riders, passengers and curious sideliners) as well as guys, to participate in our Chapter and feel comfortable and welcome doing so. I can only imagine how very intimidating it may be as a ‘newcomer’ (female or male) walking into a H.O.G. meeting, not knowing a soul and seeing all these bikers clad in black leather…being somewhat lead by a distinguished, ‘happy-go-lucky’ gentleman in a pirate get-up! Yikes! (Sam…we love ya!)
Anyway, this is just the beginning. I invite anyone and everyone who has ideas for L.O.H. and any potential activities to contact me. As mentioned at the meeting, there are numerous ideas brewing (Fox-n-Hound ride and the reverse (yet to be named!), specialty poker runs, Ladies over-night shopping excursions), and the like…but we’d really like member input. This is your club and as Officers, we want our Chapter and its activities to revolve around our members and their visions of what they would like to see our Chapter become.
I encourage all ladies to join and participate in L.O.H. and the Big Sky H.O.G. Chapter! I was asked at the last meeting, “What is L.O.H and what do they do?“ Well, Ladies of Harley (L.O.H.) is a program sponsored by the Harley Owners Group to support women motorcycle enthusiasts, riders and non-riders alike. Whether you ride your own motorcycle or are a passenger, you are encouraged to participate in L.O.H.
Any women who are National H.O.G members can join L.O.H., regardless of whether you are a full member, life member or associate member of H.O.G. Once you join L.O.H., you will receive an L.O.H. patch and pin. There is no additional charge to join L.O.H. You simply check the box on your national application, sign up by calling 1-800-CLUBHOG or visit their web site @ www.hog.com.
Then, attend our Big Sky H.O.G. meetings, come together with
others who share a common interest in Harley-Davidson motorcycles, meet new friends, create new memories, and most importantly…have fun!
